About Captain Wayne Sommers.

Capt. Wayne Sommers has been a resident of New Smyrna Beach, FL area since 1972 when I moved here from Western New York.

My first job in construction allowed me to travel most of Florida giving me an opportunity to sample fishing from Destin in the panhandle to the Florida Keys on the west coast and from the Keys to Jacksonville on the east coast.

In 1989 I received my USCG approved Captain's License and since then I’ve had time to hone my skills fishing for the many species that inhabit Ponce Inlet, the Indian River and the famed Mosquito Lagoon.

In 2003, wanting to share his knowledge Capt. Sommers formed A-1 Slippery Dog Charters LLC. What better way to share the enjoyment of fishing with others?
